It’s beyond cool watching this trailer and hearing Jeff Bridges voice right after he won the Best Actor Oscar for Crazy Heart. Even cooler to see what appears to be a younger version of Bridges as Kevin Flynn alive and well within the Tron world.

But I have to say that I’ve become a total punk when it comes to dealing with the humidity levels. How I ever managed to survive the seasons at KCRF, I’ll never know.

The people so far have all been very nice. It’s been interesting seeing what’s effectively a very mirror mirror experience. The various roles within a production seem to have particular personalities that gravitate towards them. Meeting their own analogs to Durelle, Gavan, Beaker, Queenie, Myself, and others has been a combination of fascinating and enjoyable. I’m sure it’ll not all be smooth going (wouldn’t expect it to be when there’s strong personalities involved in a passionate endeavor), but I think it’ll be a good experience and a learning one.

I am enjoying poking holes in all manner of Vendor myths about me. There’s really two versions of the Myths, the really good and the really bad, and very little in between. More on that in tomorrow’s update.

Dr Habermehl said: “The sex lives of women with red hair were clearly more active than those with other hair color, with more partners and having sex more often than the average. The research shows that the fiery redhead certainly lives up to her reputation.”

He added that women who dyed their hair red from another color were signaling they were looking for a partner, and added: “Even women in a fixed relationship are letting their partners know they are unhappy if they dye their hair red. They are saying that they are looking for something better.”

 Psychologist Christine Baumanns said however that it may not be the women who were to blame for the better sex lives of redheads.

She said: “Red stands for passion and when a man sees a redhead he will think he is dealing with a woman who won’t mess around, and gets straight to the point when it comes to sex.”

“Redheads have a fiery temperament. I love that sense of danger, not knowing whether the woman is going to smash a vase in a fit of wild anger or tear my clothes off in a fit of animal lust. That fire and passion will hold my interest over the long haul, no question.”

Five important facts about redheads:

1. Only four percent of all people have natural red hair.
2. Only 2% of the US population are natural redheads.
3. Redheads require more anesthesia than blondes and brunettes.
4. Redheads don’t turn grey–rather their hair turns sandy and then white.
5. The sales of red hair color and dyes has increased 17% since 2000.

Stars line up to play Chess

Marti Pellow, David Bedella and Clarke Peters have been added to the star-studded line up of Chess In Concert, a two-night concert performance of Tim Rice, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson’s musical at the Royal Albert Hall on 12-13 May. The trio joins a cast that already contains Wicked leading ladies Idina Menzel and Kerry Ellis, recording artist Josh Groban and Broadway star Adam Pascal. Also now confirmed in the cast are Tiffany Graves, Debbie Kurup, Leila Benn Harris and Aoife Mulholland.

Pellow (who plays The Arbiter) is the lead singer of pop band Wet Wet Wet, whose string of hits came predominantly in the 1980s and 90s. Among those chart-toppers, the band’s 1994 hit Love Is All Around spent 15 weeks at number one in the UK singles charts, after which Pellow allegedly asked for it to be removed from sale. Bedella (Molokov) is best known in the West End for playing Satan in the National Theatre production of Jerry Springer – The Opera in 2003, for which he won the 2004 Best Actor in a Musical Laurence Olivier Award, and Frank N Furter in the 2006 revival of The Rocky Horror Show. Bedella is also known to Holby City viewers for playing short and sexy surgeon Carlos Fashola in the hospital soap.

Peters (Walter) was last in the West End playing Porgy in Trevor Nunn’s production of Porgy And Bess at the Savoy in 2006. His extensive list of previous West End credits includes The Witches Of Eastwick, Chicago, Simply Heavenly, The Iceman Cometh and Five Guys Named Moe, which he also wrote, winning the 1991 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.

Among their many London stage credits Graves and Kurup have both played the role of Velma in Chicago in the West End. Mulholland is also a Chicago veteran, having played Roxie in December 2006. The actress first became known for taking part in the reality television programme How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? and is currently playing Maria in The Sound Of Music for two performances a week. Benn Harris is the current Christine in The Phantom Of The Opera and has previous London stage credits including Fame and Evita.

In a more enlightened age, Majel Barrett Roddenberry might have rated a Federation command. As it was, she helped rule the Star Trek universe.

Roddenberry, the widow of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, died today at her Bel-Air, Calif., home, Roddenberry.com said. The reported cause of death was leukemia.

Billed through much of her acting career as Majel Barrett, Roddenberry played Dr. McCoy’s loyal, Spock-admiring assistant, Nurse Chapel, on the original 1966-69 Trek series. She also provided the voice of the USS Enterprise’s computer—a role she continued with through the franchise’s various offshoots, including J.J. Abrams‘ upcoming big-screen reboot, Star Trek.

"My mother truly acknowledged and appreciated the fact that Star Trek fans played a vital role in keeping the Roddenberry dream alive for the past 42 years," her son, Eugene Roddenberry Jr., said on the website. "It was her love for the fans, and their love in return, that kept her going for so long after my father passed away."

Gene Roddenberry died in 1991 at the age of 70.
