Just how bad was Shia LaBeouf’s hand injury, and how did it threaten Transformers 2?

Posted by at 22nd June, 2009

Everyone knows by now that Shia LaBeouf injured his left hand in an auto accident last July. But it's only now becoming apparent just how serious that injury was and how it affected the production of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which was in the middle of shooting when the accident happened.

Director Michael Bay, speaking to reporters in Beverly Hills, Calif., last week, recalled how the injury threatened to shut down the production.

What Megan Fox has to say about those Lara Croft Tomb Raider rumors

Posted by at 22nd June, 2009

Megan Fox, the starlet who adds femme power to the Transformers franchise, is a popular name bandied about to take over Angeline Jolie's role of adventurer Lara Croft in a proposed Tomb Raider reboot.

And there's no doubt Croft's spandex shorts, pistols and boots would suit Fox.

Alas, the comely brunette actress denied that she is officially connected to the role, speaking after a press conference for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen last week in Beverly Hills, Calif. Fox told a cluster of reporters that it's a complete rumor. No one has offered her the role of Lara Croft or even spoken to her about it.

Obama strokes Michael Bay’s ego, so the director puts the prez in Transformers 2

Posted by at 20th June, 2009

Would you believe President Obama called Michael Bay, director of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, "a big-ass director"?

Neither would we, but the director insists it happened. And to return the favor, Bay put the new prez in his upcoming giant-robot movie.

OK, not exactly: He put references to the real-life president into the story, including images on a few background TV monitors. But the message is clear: If giant robots fight on Earth, Bay wants Obama in the Oval Office.

What Megan Fox has to say about her Jonah Hex role, and it’s not what you think

Posted by at 20th June, 2009

Friday was all things Transformers for Megan Fox: At the film's press junket in Beverly Hills, Calif., Fox joined her co-stars and director Michael Bay in a press conference supporting the film's June 24 release. Still, she managed to slip in a plug for her upcoming role in the supernatural western Jonah Hex. While talking about the role of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and her rise to fame, she marveled at getting the chance to work with actors such as John Malkovich and Josh Brolin on Hex.

After the Transformers festivities ended, Fox stayed an extra few minutes to talk to a few reporters with more specific Hex questions. She confirmed that they are naming her character Leila. That had been up in the air. Leila, she said, is a prostitute and a twisted love interest for Jonah (Brolin).

Megan Fox on Jennifer’s Body, those naked photos and ‘inappropriate comedy’

Posted by at 20th June, 2009

The horror comedy movie Jennifer's Body has been a tumultuous production for Megan Fox, in her first leading role after breaking out in 2007's Transformers. Fox was upset when photos of the film's nude scene surfaced on the Internet: She was wearing pasties, and it was only from the side, but it was not the image she wanted for herself or the film.

Now that the dust has settled, Fox has wrapped filming and even seen a cut of the movie. She told reporters on Friday that she is happy with the end result. Karyn Kusama (Aeon Flux) directed Fox in Diablo Cody's (Juno) script, and Fox said that it's a best effort at capturing Cody's words.
